Another adventure begins..

Bright and early this morning (remember we are retired… anything before 7am is considered bright and early) we made our way to Tucson International Airport to start the next adventure in our life.  For once, our flight was on time and we actually left on schedule. That might seem strange to say, but when you live near a regional airport, we have learned never to take things for granted and always to leave a day early. Our son Brien took us to a hotel near the airport so all we had to do was grab a shuttle and get going. We figured that way we could “sleep in”. We boarded our United flight to head to ORD (Chicago O’hare) . Then on to the 20 minute flight to Milwaukee where we will embark on our ship The Polaris for our adventure.
The trip was uneventful which means I didn’t have any meltdowns, everything went according to schedule and we arrived relatively on time!

It was a happy journey!
We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Milwaukee.
Milwaukee reminds me of the European cities we have visited. The building is one of the old buildings of downtown but still has the amenities we are used to.
Since we had missed our lunch today, we took a walk around town and ended up at the classic old school hotel that is the centerpiece of the city: the Pfister. It is elegant and beautiful .

A beautiful and memorable lobby. Our destination was the restaurant on the hotel’s corner:
The Mason Street Grill. It’s an old school steak house and as usual our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. Everything tasted excellent and I’m sure the leftovers will taste just as good for breakfast.

Al needed to pose next to the chicken for our friends Jody, Val & Bibianna…IYKYK….
We are now relaxing in our hotel room thinking about the Key Lime Pie in our refrigerator and resting up for tomorrow’s big embarkation.
Let the adventure begin!!!!
