New Friends leave and Newer friends board.

This morning is the day for those who are only doing the week long journey to leave us. While we get to have a relaxing morning, many on board have been up at the crack of down, bags packed and waiting their rides to the airport. In fact, all but 83 of us are leaving and will be replaces by 5pm with all new passengers. This is when the compradore of the world cruise passengers starts to meld. We now are like the upper level kids in school… we know the ropes and can confidently find our way around. We know where the grill serving lobster is and how to use the daily digital calendar.  Many of us are on first name basis with the staff and we have figured out where the best spots are to watch the world go by. While new passengers come aboard, we head out for a bus tour of the city of Toronto.
The bow of our ship always amazes me. This was taken as we boarded our bus for the tour. I will add a few pictures today, but my concentration was missing today so there might not be any idea of what they actually are from….the one thing I learned is that this city really should get another longer look at sometime in the future.
The Livingston Market. It smelled wonderful from the cooking meats and food! We only visited the first floor but there were two floors below us I think. There were foods and other goods available. It was packed with customers.
What a counter full of various forms and kinds of Salmon!
Toronto is full of great architecture both Old and New

The entrance to the underground city. This is a huge four story shopping center all underground.

One of the old buildings that was on the spot..the building front was dismantled brick by brick and rebuilt inside the glass walkway as a reminder of buildings past.
Also located in the underground city is the Hockey Hall of Fame

We didn’t have enough free time to spend it inside, but again, it’s on the list for future!
Because it’s hard to remember directions underground there were compasses built into the ceiling! Very clever!!
When we came back outside we were in the middle of the financial district. Like Wall Street has a statue of a bull, here ,because many of the investors are Arabic there is an elephant which is considered a good fortune animal.
Our first look at the CN tower!
A variety of interesting buildings. Some are from the University of Toronto and some are not

Imagine living or working in thee buildings
Roger’s stadium where the Toronto Blue Jays play baseball

Closer view of CN Tower

Street sculpture. Soon the tour was heading back to the dock. There was lots more to see and do here and its worth visiting again!
Back on board and heading into the canal system ahead of us..the St.Lawrence SeaWay. Tomorrow is a sea day so that means lectures, bridge for Albert and Im attempting Mahjong…
