We walked along the resort row. Large expansive resorts to house the hundreds of thousands of tourists who flock to Waikiki beach every year.
We enjoyed a leisurely walk along the boardwalk. It was a lovely morning. It was fun to see everyone enjoying the beach. We thought we would try Duke’s for lunch (after Duke Kahanamoku, the surfing legend). We were not the only ones with this idea…instead we decided to walk along the main drag until we found a pop up market in an alley ..There we got this:
When we have visited Maui in the past I bought a few dresses at Hilo Hattie”s an they have lasted for more than 10 years of wear without fading. I found I needed more dresses for this trip and couldn’t think of anywhere else I’d rather shop. I left the store with two new dresses, a t-shirt and a new Hawaiian shirt. Albert left the store with four new authentic Hawaiian Aloha shirts. It was a successful day!
We needed to be back at the ship by four oclock today as the ship was leaving shortly afterwards.
It was fitting that our last view of Honolulu was of the Aloha Tower as we left dock. It will take another 5 sea days traveling south to get to Bora Bora. We will not be in the United States again until May 27,2023. Its been an adventure for the past 25 days and I’m looking forward to the next hundred or so days!
