We have spent the last couple of days in Edinburgh exploring. Well, actually re visiting some of our favorite places.

We spent Sunday walking along the Royal mile heading to the Castle.

The city is a bustling metro even on a Sunday!

St Giles was closed today due to Sunday services

One of the many closes that dot the city. Always go look along them as they often lead to somewhere interesting they are like little alleyways of excitement! Susan didn’t feel well today so it was just the three of us. I was the official photographer…

A memorial

We stopped at Dolan Brodies for a wee dram

People watching

Of course there has to be a piper somewhere along the way!

And what city doesn’t have owls on the street?
The witchery seems like my kind of place!

William Wallace

Robert the Bruce

Inside the great Hall

The coronation throne and a copy of where the Stone of Scone would have been. (The actual stone was in with the Crown Jewels having just been returned a few days ago from London where it was used for the coronation of King Charles)

The fireplace in the great hall

It started to rain and got chilly so we headed out. The guys went to the Scottish Whiskey experience to taste whiskey and I found a nice hot bowl of soup and a G&T. Then we all headed back home for a nice dinner at a Canadian restaurant where we were delighted to get Poutine and burgers!
Next up is a trip to Roslyn Chapel!
