Land HO!

At around 2:15 pm today we had our first glimpse of land in six days!

At first it was just a small dark line near the horizon.  We were still 30 miles or so away but heading slowly and steady towards it.  The ship seemed to come alive with anticipation of land!  I can’t imagine how the early sailors felt when they unwittingly came across this sight.  Even though I knew there was going to be land ahead of us, after only five days I began to have my doubts.

The water sure is blue today and the weather is warm.  We are enjoying sitting on our Veranda and watching the world go by. I got out our coin for luck and took a picture of it.  It has taken us two hours to sail around the south and west side of  The big island. We will continue sailing by the islands for the rest of the evening and wake up in Honolulu.

Tonight’s activities include dancing under the stars and a Hawaiian buffet.  Our life is good!
